It’s a brand new year of 2009! Although it has been forecast to be one of the more gloomier years around, I’ve made up my mind to work even harder and quit being so lazy. It’s time to stop procastinating and get Rainy Skies finished!!!

Rainy Skies is around 1 year in the writing and drawing. Conceptualization-wise, over a few years of imagination. And now…it has come to life, although the novel is yet to be finished. But here it is…so enjoy the view. =3

Hi everyone!
Sorry for not writing in ages. The truth is I’ve been busy at work and…my writing has slowed down quite a bit coz by the time I reach home, I’m dreadfully tired. But I do try to slip in snippets of paragraphs every day so yeah…I’m still ganbatte-ing. XDD
I’m also having ideas for a third book (yes, I know you must be thinking…what?! Another book? Finish Rainy Skies first la!)
Ahem, let’s just say that sometimes when the ideas come, they come unbidden. =3
Anyways, this story is about Katie who went dumb after her father’s untimely death. Dumb as in mute, not dumb as in went stupid. She had lost her mother about 10 years ago and to lose her father was a traumatic experience that somehow caused her voice to stop working. Due to her father’s will, Katie was taken in by one of his trusted ex-students, Edgar. He was to become her guardian until she comes of age one year later when she turns 21 and inherits all her father’s possessions.
Now Edgar has a martial arts school in another town so Katie has to follow him, carrying a whiteboard and marker which she now primarily uses to communicate with other people. She doesn’t use sign language to communicate because the people around her are not well-versed in it.
When she reaches the town, she is surprised to see the school filled with good looking young men as instructors. And across the street from the dream school of hunks, is a boxing school whose instructors are primarily brutish looking men. They, however have a doggie named Q-Chan and since Katie was extremely fond of dogs; her friendship with the boxing school men is quickly cemented, much to the disgust of Edgar and the rest of his good-looking crew.
And so begins the advantures of Katie and her whiteboard.
It’s a somewhat sad story in some cases because Katie goes through the loss of her boyfriend (who broke up with her for another woman) and nearly goes over the edge. But Q-Chan and the town’s vet pulled her back.
I’ve even decided on the theme song for this story. XDD
Yes, it’s a Japanese song. Again. =)

That must be the first question running through your heads when you see the post title. Okies, so I was imagining that someone is actually eager to know who this chap is. LOL.
Anyways, Lucian is in short Rain’s lover. He’s sort of in the picture (coz he’s like lurking around the edges while Rain and gang have their adventures) & he’s very important to Rain so I thought, why don’t I give them a theme song? I was just listening to this song titled ‘First Love’ which was supposed to be on the Inuyasha soundtrack (I’m not too sure though…) and I thought it was/is a really really sweet song.
Lucian is Rain’s first (& only) love after all. XDDD

So you can pretty much imagine my chagrin when I was told I wasn’t allowed to listen to my mp3 at work. Haiz…oh well…
Anyways, that’s not the point. The reason for this post is coz I want to post something in relation to my novel-WIP, Rainy Skies. In a nutshell, my novel is about this young woman named Rain Eveil. She is what people would call a Mage but in my world, she’s known as a Magian. She has two bosom buddies who’re namely Thiea Bey and Yvi Weil.
I won’t reveal much about these ladies but I can say these three are very much different in character and they’re certainly not the weak emotional ladies you erm…find in erm…a lot of animes these days. I’m sorry, anime fan as I am, I really really dislike women who fall apart without a man’s help. Like seriously, help yourself first.
Ahem…anyways, I’ve more or less decided on the theme songs for the ladies so I’ll post them here for your listening pleasure. See if you can spot their characters from the songs. =)
And yes, most of them are Japanese songs. So sue me for listening to too much Jpop/Jsoul/JR&B. I’ll provide the English translation in the next post.
